The spirit and intent of the Canada Feature Film Fund’s development, production and marketing programs (the Main programs) is to encourage the making and marketing of Canadian feature films that have high box office potential, while supporting a range of genres, budgets, companies and regions.

Please take note that as of November 13, 2009, Telefilm Canada’s Atlantic Regional office will stop accepting applications to the Canada Feature Film Fund’s English-language Development. Applications will be accepted until end of business day November 13, 2009. Telefilm’s Atlantic Regional office will begin accepting development applications on Monday, February 22, 2010. Applications for National Packaging funds will continue to be reviewed on an ongoing basis.

Please take note that as of October 16, 2009, Telefilm Canada’s Western and Ontario & Nunavut Regional offices will stop accepting applications to the Canada Feature Film Fund’s English-language Development, and Regional Production. Applications will be accepted until end of business day October 16, 2009. Telefilm’s offices will re-open doors to applications to the above-noted programs on Monday, February 22, 2010, five weeks in advance of Telefilm’s new fiscal year.

Canada Feature Film Fund application dates for the 2009-2010 period

Development

Fiscal 2010-2011 submission deadlines for French-language development projects originating in all regions of the country as well as English-language projects originating in Quebec are as follows:


April 5, 2010 (maximum of three [3] projects per production company) (maximum of one [1] project for new production companies that have not previously been eligible)

August 16, 2010 (maximum of two [2] projects per production company) (maximum of one [1] project for new production companies that have not previously been eligible)

Production

Fiscal 2010-2011 submission deadline for French-language production projects originating in all regions of the country as well as English-language projects originating in Quebec (with requests of 1,5M or less), is February 1, 2010
