TRUE INTREPID (THE)

Sir William Stephenson is a great Canadian hero whose life is surrounded in mystery. A native of Winnipeg, decorated war hero, and successful industrialist, he was the architect of modern American intelligence. During World War II, he was handpicked by Winston Churchill to organize Allied intelligence efforts in America and establish the secret spy training facility, Camp X, near Oshawa, Ontario. James Bond's creator, Ian Fleming, said: "James Bond is a highly romanticized version of a spy. Bill Stephenson is the real thing."
