The Agreement (or Treaty) on film and video coproductions that the Government of Canada had signed with the Federal Executive Council of the Assembly of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1988 covers Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovenia and Macedonia. The province of Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia in 2008 and is now being considered as an independent and sovereign State, and hence, is not covered by this Treaty. Canadian producers must contact Telefilm Canada prior to beginning production of projects with partners from Kosovo.

United Kingdom
As of 1st April 2007, the administration of British film certification has moved from the Department of Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) to the UK Film Council.  The new Certification unit at the UK Film Council will be assessing all Co-production and Cultural Test applications which began or begin principal photography after 1st January 2007.  The DCMS will remain the Competent Authority for the purpose of the co-production agreements, and retains responsibility both for the overarching policy, and for signing and issuing provisional and final British Film certificates.  In practice, the new UK Film Council will assess applications, agree a decision with the relevant competent authority and advice DCMS accordingly. DCMS will then approve and issue the certificate.

Evaluation grids
Following industry consultation on the implementation of a new tool for evaluating creative and technical contributions to international coproductions, the new grids are now available under the “Useful tools” section.
