The International Rome Film Festival’s main institutional aim is to focus attention on the best in world cinema today, exploring filmmaking trends of particular interest and highlighting the genres that round out the technical, artistic, and social dimensions of cinema as a whole. Moreover, in order to celebrate the actor’s craft and its all-important contribution to film history and the language of cinema, every year the festival will pay tribute to a contemporary actor in the form of a retrospective dedicated to the artist, along with occasions for him or her to meet with festival audiences and film journalists.
