Telefilm Canada funds seven feature films through the
Low Budget Independent Feature Film Assistance Program
Montreal, July 19, 2007 - Telefilm Canada’s Quebec office announces that it will support seven innovative film projects through its Low Budget Independent Feature Film Assistance Program. Six of the features will be shot in French and one in English.
Launched in 2000 as part of the Canada Feature Film Fund, the Low Budget Independent Feature Film Assistance Program is designed to support director-driven independent projects. Open to both established and emerging filmmakers, the program provides support of up to $200,000 per project.
The Low Budget Independent Feature Film Assistance Program affords directors opportunities for creative renewal and professional development, while seeking to ensure that Canada's cultural diversity is reflected in their films.
