Telefilm Canada introduced Feature It! in 2006, with financial support from the Department of Canadian Heritage through the Interdepartmental Partnership with Official-Language Communities (IPOLC). Since then, it has backed close to a dozen English-language fiction feature film projects submitted in response to calls for projects by Canadian creators.
